Trupanion Announces Annual Veterinary Appreciation Day™ Awards

April 25th, 2025

Trupanion announced today the launch of its annual Veterinary Appreciation Day™ Awards.

SEATTLE, WA – April 28, 2025 – Trupanion (Nasdaq: TRUP), a leading provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs, announced today the launch of its annual Veterinary Appreciation Day™ Awards.

Nominations for “Veterinarian of the Year” and “Veterinary Professional of the Year” are now open.

Margi Tooth, President and CEO of Trupanion, commented, "It's so important to shine a light on the amazing work happening in veterinary medicine, and we know that work comes from all members of the hospital team, from the front desk to the surgical suite. These awards offer a chance to acknowledge the hard work and expertise that spans those diverse roles and the incredible impact they have on pets’ lives and the families they support.”

How it works:

1. NOMINATE | Both pet parents and veterinary professionals are invited to nominate an extraordinary hospital team member they know or work with. Remember: It takes everyone to make a veterinary hospital run smoothly, so all team members are eligible for nomination. Nominations can be submitted on vetappreciationday.trupanion.com from April 28, 2025, through May 9, 2025.

2. VOTE | Check out Trupanion’s nominee showcase page to meet this year’s contenders for “Veterinarian of the Year” and “Veterinary Professional of the Year” across four U.S regions (West, Midwest, Northeast, South) and two Canadian regions (West, East). One winner will be chosen from each category in each of the six identified U.S. and Canadian regions, for a total of 12 winners. Voting opens May 12, 2025 and ends May 26, 2025.

3. CELEBRATE | Join Trupanion in celebrating the amazing individuals who make up the veterinary community! Award winners will be announced on Trupanion’s established Veterinary Appreciation Day, June 18, 2025.

Dr. Steve Weinrauch, BVMS, MRCVS, Trupanion’s Chief Veterinary/Product Officer, said, "We honor the veterinary community year-round, but Veterinary Appreciation Day gives us a dedicated moment to acknowledge the selfless dedication of these individuals. Veterinary professionals consistently put the needs of pets and their families first, and we hope these awards inspire a deep appreciation for their tireless efforts."
