Extend your care beyond the clinic
Join the Vet of Record Program!
Every day, veterinary professionals like you change the lives of pets in your community. The Vet of Record Program, created by Shelters United and supported by Trupanion, gives you the opportunity to extend that impact by partnering directly with local shelters and rescues to oversee the care of pets while they’re waiting for their forever families.
By joining this free program, you’ll be connected with animal welfare organizations in need, helping ensure pets leave the shelter healthy and ready to thrive in their new homes, while also building meaningful relationships with local animal welfare teams.
What is a Vet of Record?
Animal welfare organizations need a Veterinarian of Record (VOR) to order medications and medical supplies. In this role, you open the door for shelters and rescues to access essential products through your credentials, while ensuring they're used safely and responsibly. You can provide this oversight without being on-site, making it a flexible way to help more pets access the care they deserve.
